Every shape has an edge.

And every edge communicates differently.

HARD EDGE

Graphic. Controlled. Artificial. Precise.

SOFT EDGE

Atmospheric. Natural. Diffused. Romantic.

LOST EDGE

The makeup gradually disappears into skin or another colour.

MIXED EDGE

Some parts remain sharp while others dissolve.

This is one of the easiest ways to make makeup more sophisticated.

Instead of blending everything equally, deliberately decide:

Where should the viewer clearly see the shape?

and:

Where should the shape disappear?

A smoky eye does not mean that every edge must be equally soft.

A strong editorial shape does not mean every edge must be sharp.

Edge variation creates hierarchy.
