READ the face.

INTEND the emotional or visual result.

BUILD with colour, value and form.

CONTRAST through colour, texture, edges and light.

CONTROL placement, balance and hierarchy.

TEST the design under lighting, movement and camera.

This is the difference between simply applying makeup and designing makeup.
